A New Take on TTC Transfers

Posted by Tim / March 9, 2007

20070310_ttcpic2.jpgThanks to local artist Shamsi Shahrokhi I'll never look at the lowly TTC subway transfer the same way. In two new works currently on display at the Sole Gallery, Shahroki illustrates that transfers can make great canvases and provide interesting context into time and place. More photos:

A friend of mine in Melbourne, AUS, did something very similar with the train tickets there. Her installation in Sydney was really rad, <a href="http://www.safari2006.net/artists/shelley_krycer.htm";>Here's the link</a>.

Wow, these are great. Any idea how long these will be on display at Sole?

wow, those are fabulous.

I too would be interested in knowing how long the show is up, and if you know them, what the gallery hours are.

I'm not sure. There's sort of a weird group exhibit right now and the web site doesn't give any more details. But I guess you could call them to find out:

You are so very mistaken! The Visigoth knows insecure pretense wherever he sees it. Yours is no veil. Your self-satisfying airs to "art" fools only fools; and I suspect even some or those will harbour suspicions!
