Hi, and thanks for including my photo in this week's Flickr Forum. The "Big Wheel" photo is a couple of years old, actually. My g/f and I were out enjoying the sites at the Yonge & Eglinton Street Festival, and managed to take some interesting shots of the festivities. While we were on our way home, I just happened to look to my left and noticed someone had secured their Big Wheel to a bike lock on Yonge Street. It definitely caught people's attention!

Haha. I'm picturing this kid as an Alex P Keaton type - with lots of money in his piggy bank. Thanks for sharing!

thanks for inclusion in this weeks discussion. this photo is from a full series of night photos which were taken underneath the entire length of the gardiner expressway over a two month period (january-february, 2006). my interest in the gardiner was to focus on its distinct spatial qualities as it met the ground and the edges of the city surrounding, rather than purely viewing it externally as an object. the rationale was to create a sequence of images which could be used as a basis to generate discussion on the inclusion of neglected urban space into the living fabric of the city (ie. why are we deterred from these spaces? what makes an urban condition acceptable for inhabitation?). the destruction of the gardiner is a current topic which is generating much debate in the city - hopefully these photos allow the viewer to occupy the space of the gardiner in a way which is unfamiliar and which may open more flexible insight into the potential for development in and around infrastructure as means of diversifying densification and urbanization. looking forward to others input.

Thanks for including the Deco Phones for this week. Not a great story to this photo really. I have been looking for an old deco ashtray like the ones in the ROM Deco exhibit, so I figured I would snap one. It is along Queen Street, while I was heading to New York Subways - YUM!
