01. Mercer Union Members Show and Sale - Dec 14

Exhibition open: December 5, 2006 - December 14, 2006
Closing Party and Sale: December 14, 8PM, FREE ADMISSION
All works for sale: $100

2008 is Mercer Union's annual member show - a ten-day exhibition of drawings, paintings, photographs, sculpture, multiples, and other media, by members of Mercer Union.

Closing party and sale, hosted again this year by Misha Glouberman, will take place on the 14th of December, at 8pm. Admission is FREE and all works are selling for the insanely low price of $100. The works are sold on a strict first-come, first-served basis, with line-ups last year forming more than two hours in advance.

All funds raised support Mercer Union's 2007 programming year. .

Artscape is currently accepting applications for the Gibraltar Point International Artist Residency Program taking place June 1 単 30, 2007.

05. Pleasure Dome - New Toronto Works Call - Deadline Dec 16

Pleasure Dome is seeking short experimental film/video works, expanded cinema performances and media art installations produced within the last year by Toronto-based artists for the annual New Toronto Works Show. Now in its thirteenth year, this members-curated programme features the cutting edge of experimental film and video produced in Toronto today.

06. Blackwood - Free Shuttle Bus & Tour of 18:Beckett - Dec 17

Tour: 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm

18:Beckett is an inter-disciplinary exhibition project marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of Nobel Prize winning, Irish writer Samuel Beckett. The title refers to the eighteen years marked since Mr. Beckett's death and the eighteen sites this project encompasses. These sites are an artist lecture, eight artist projects, six weekly film/video art events, a film screening evening, a symposium and performance, and a publication; all of which arise out of Beckett's influence.

Eight international artists present their work in and around the Blackwood Gallery. The exhibition highlights artistic methods that artists are exploring in relation to Beckett's work:

07. The Power Plant - We Can Do This Now - Dec 15

We Can Do This Now assembles a special exhibition of several Toronto-based artists, Carlos Amorales: Useless Wonder features the Canadian debut of his video installation and sound environment, while Aleksandra Mir: Organized Movement - A Video Diary marks the first time the artist will exhibit in Canada.

An Opening Reception will be held at The Power Plant on Friday, December 15, from 7-11 p.m. It is free and open to the public.
