"Transit" Photo Contest Winner
Winning photograph for the Transit theme: "Transit" by blogTO Flickr pool member Andrew Alexander
We knew the transit theme would be a popular one, and we want to thank everyone who participated. We saw a lot of great submissions: wild moving streetcars night scenes, hazy highway drives, and subway imagery galore. It wasn't easy to choose a winner, but when the final scores came in, blogTO found that Andrew's extremely creative and technically challenging man-in-superhero-motion narrowly came out on top!
Congratulations to Andrew, the winner of a new Canon ZR500 Mini DV Camcorder, courtesy of our contest sponsor Henry's Camera. We'll contact you and arrange for delivery of your prize!
Honorable mention goes to these fantastic entries by Michael Wong, Miles Story, and Irina Souiki. Thanks for your awesome submissions!
Be sure to contribute submissions to our next contest theme - to be announced on blogTO tomorrow!

That's a hell of a jump!!
Thanks for the nod!
What a great interpretation of the theme, I'm blown away. So far, two phenomenal contests with amazing entries. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one!
I spent a few minutes trying to figure out how he could have such wierd lighting on the guy for multiple exposures in a day time shot image without any ghosting in the shot, until I read his info on the shot. I didn't know we were allowed to make photoshop COLLAGES for the photography contest. For the next contest I'll submit a painting.
Hmmm. Sorry you don't like the digital darkroom techniques the winner used. I hope it doesn't discourage you from participating in our continuing themed photo contests :)
We're going to remain flexible wrt the use of PS and other digital manipulations. That's not to say we're encouraging heavy PS use - straight from the camera has the same chance of winning. The same goes for the film vs digital debate (dead horse).
Congrautlations Andrew on the winning shot.
We can rebuild him, make him stronger, faster....

Looks surprisingly similar to the photo of the long jump that appeared in sports illustrated a couple of weeks ago....homage perhaps??
Here's a link to several Sequence Photography images. Only Andrew knows what his influences are, but I have my doubts that he was paying hommage to SI :)
