Scandelle-ous Under the Mink

Yep, Sasha Von Bon Bon, Artistic Director of the infamous burlesque troupe The Scandelles is at it again. Continuing to work on expanding burlesque to a theatrical level, Von Bon Bon and her collaborator Kitty Neptune present Under the Mink at Buddies in Bad Times.

I gather that Mink is taking the moving picture show, in all its guises, as its inspiration. An interdisciplinary show, it includes original films by Safiya Randera & Shana MacDonald, along with the usual Scandelle cast and guests. The promo material I got stated Think Hedwig meets Showgirls meets the Dadaists - with a pinch of Carol Burnett.

Knowing Sasha as I do I expect that this show will be a hell of a ride. But heed the warning: CONTAINS NUDITY, ADULT SITUATIONS AND SOCIO-POLITICAL CONTENT. Oh my g-d(s) - socio-political content! My virgin sensibilities will not be able to stand it!

Under the Mink will run from January 11 - 21 2006 with doors opening at 8pm, and show starting at 8:30pm. Tickets are $10 Wed, and $15 Thursday through to Saturday.
