Toronto is getting a cherry blossom tunnel

It looks like Toronto has caught blossom fever. Thousands of people flocked to High Park this weekend to gawk at the cherry blossoms and it looks like another Toronto neighbourhood might be equally crowded next year too.

That's because Councillor Mary-Margaret McMahon told the Beach Metro that thanks to a Japanese donor, sakura (cherry blossom) trees will be planted at Woodbine Beach Park.

They'll be installed in a similar manner to the cherry blossom tunnels popular in Japan, which are absolutely stunning, by the way.

Some of the trees could even arrive by the end of this week. Start getting excited for next year's cherry blossom season stat.
