U of T seeing big boost in interest after Trump victory

We all know Canada's Citizenship and Immigration website crashed as the results from the American election rolled in last week. However, one local university also got more web traffic after Trump became the president-elect.

According to the University of Toronto, nearly 10,000 Americans visited future.utoronto.ca on November 9. The site, unsurprisingly, features instructions on how to apply to the school.

Apparently, that number represents 12 times the traffic from U.S. visitors in comparison to November 2015.

"Canada is a model for tolerance and inclusivity and many students are looking for an opportunity to study in that environment," said executive director, enrolment services and University registrar Richard Levin in a news release.

Along with increased interest in U of T, celebrities also said they wanted to move to Toronto, including Snoop Dogg.
