TheirSpace - People In Planes

My introduction to People In Planes was one of those happy accidents. I went to see a band play, and People In Planes was opening. I was so blown away, I almost didn't stay for the headliners.

People in Planes are the perfect balance of energy. They are confident without being too arrogant - at least by music standards. Their stage presence is strong. Their MySpace page is just a small samplings of their talents.

People In Planes' My Space Page with 4 songs.

Pretty Buildings instantly shows the bands musical diversity. A beautiful piano introduction is kept as more layers are added to the song. It's a slower song and it highlights the power of the vocals in this band. It's an incredibly powerful song in general and it's one that can hit emotions in just the right spot.

Mayday M'aidez has an intro that makes me think of hair metal. But quickly the song settles into a driving rock song. The drums push along throughout the entire song and are a perfect balance for laid-back vocals. The chorus builds the song in just the right way. It's a song that's just right in every way.

Know By Now starts off with a gentle acoustic feel. The song builds into a quicker feeling song but maintains the gentler feel until the chorus. It's a basic rock song and it's effectively delivered.

Last Man Standing is a stunner. Its uniqueness shows initially and maintains the feel more throughout the song. The vocals in parts of the song feel different - lower, darker, more gravelly - than what I'm used to with vocalist Gareth Jones, and that's part of the appeal of the song.

With strong songs and a well established stage presence, People In Planes is sure to impress. Their live show is a perfect way to end the week.
