Toronto duo raise 100K for video game movie

Toronto boys Jarrett Cale and Geoff Lapaire were trying to raise $75,000 for their new movie "Pure Pwnage" (based on the web-series they created in 2004) via Indiegogo.com, a crowdfunding platform where people who want to raise money can create fundraising campaigns to tell their story and get the word out.

In less than 24-hours they met their financial goal. At the time I started writing this post, they've exceeded it in fact, and are currently at $108,259. When the pair hit the $100k mark, they rewarded fans with "previously unreleased audio recording from our archives to our YouTube channel", and have hinted to release even more if they hit any additional milestones.

"Pure Pwnage" is based on their highly popular web-series about a guy named Jeremy, who is supposed to be the "greatest fictional video game player in the world". Their new film promises to bring "the world of online gaming to the big screen".

There is still 54 days still left in the Indiegogo campaign, and every dollar they receive will
go towards making the film the "best gamer movie EVER!".

Take a look at the Pure Pwnage Indiegogo page and contribute if you like.
