Toronto tattoo shop sells designs by vending machine

Would you let chance dictate how you get inked? Apparently the idea is not so outrageous, given that Toronto tattoo parlour Okey Doke Tattoo Shop has introduced a vending machine that dispenses random designs for $80. You pop a token into what looks like a candy dispenser and out pops something that you'll wear on your body for the rest of time. There's something exciting about it, to be sure -- but it also seems rather cavalier.

Buying a random book from the Bibliomat is one thing, but a tattoo seems to be another thing all together. Or perhaps I'm just square.

The shop doesn't, of course, force customers to get the design that comes out of the machine, but once you lay down the 80 bucks, you're committed financially. If you don't want that tattoo, you don't get your money back. According to the Star, the shop has had the machine in use for about a month and about 30 people have tried it out, which actually seems quite high.

What do you think? Will your next bit of ink come from a gumball machine?
