Toronto cookie shop that was a social media sensation abruptly closes

An innovative stuffed-cookie shop in Toronto is sadly closing its doors less than three months after it opened its first offical storefront location.

Pandoughra's Box, located at 711 Mt Pleasant Road, is a sister-operated small business that makes stuffed cookies in all sorts of imaginative and mouthwatering flavours.

From classic flavours like Rocky Road, dark chocolate orange, chocolate chip, and sea salt Nutella, to inventive creations like Dunkaroo, Pop Tart, and charmed & fluffed (featuring Lucky Charms cereal) it was difficult to pick just one delicious cookie to indulge in.

The shop previously sold their products out of the 20 Lockport Avenue ghost kitchen, Stackt Market, and their website, before moving into a permanent location on Feb. 10 in Davisville Village.

"We are sorry to be sharing this news but Pandoughra's Box is closing its operations in Canada moving forward," the shop's announcement on Instagram reads.

pandoughras box"It's been a wonderful journey and we thank all our wonderful cookie monsters for their love and support. We hope to serve you again in the future."

The heart-wrenching announcement led to a flood of supportive comments from loyal customers and fellow cookie monsters.

"Nooooo omg I've tried so many stuffed cookies and yours were the best ones for sure!" one person wrote.

"Oh no!!!! I'm so sorry to hear this, loved your shop and your ice cream and cookies were so inventive! Wishing you all the best wherever life takes you next," another person said.

At the time of writing, the cookie shop's website has also been taken offline.

While it's not clear if Pandoughra's Box will ever be returning back to Toronto, we're dreaming of the day we can taste their cookies once again.
