Toronto fish n' chips joint that was neighbourhood favourite permanently closed

A favourite fish n' chips joint in a Toronto has permanently closed, and someone from a nearby business alleges it's because new owners who took over ran it into the ground.

It's a shame as Long Branch Fish & Chips has been a go-to for fried fish and British classics for years and years, but now according to the local BIA it's been stripped down to the studs. There are also boards on the windows.

A person working at a nearby bike shop tells blogTO that the closure was not related to lockdowns.

"It closed because they were curbsiding cars, selling garage sale contents on the tables and using the two restaurants to give the Grandpa a warm place to hang out all day," alleges the worker. "It was doomed the day the 'new owners' took over."

They say the new Long Branch owners had also taken over the Snack Shack business next door.

"They owned two places side by side and skipped town," the worker claims. "Landlord has cleared out both places."
