Mealshare brings charitable dining to Toronto

Next time you dine out, you can help feed someone in need, all by picking the right item off the menu. Starting next week, Mealshare is bringing its successful fundraising program to Toronto, partnering with three local restaurants - Hawthorne, Cafe Belong and Khao San Road - to help fund meals for the hungry.

The program, which started in Vancouver and has already seen success in six Canadian cities, teams up with favourite dining destinations in each town to designate special Mealshare items on their menu. If you see a menu item with their orange fork-and-plate logo next to it, order and they'll donate part of the revenue to a local charity - in Toronto's case, proceeds will benefit PARC - as well as giving internationally through Save The Children.

The program launches on October 16.
