Fog in Toronto

Videos of the crazy fog that blanketed Toronto

After an eerie blanket of fog engulfed Toronto on Friday night, photographers aplenty took to the streets to capture the moody transformation of the city. But, having already shared lots of their great work over the weekend, it's only fair to devote some attention to the time-lapse and video-based documentation of the night.

There may not be as much footage out there (though longer processing times mean it's a relatively safe bet that more is likely to come), but what is available offers a very different perspective on what it all looked like on Friday night and Saturday morning.

Here are three of the better clips currently out there.

Fog City Time-Lapse

This time-lapse animation from Sam Javanrouh was compiled via hundreds of still frames as the sun set and the fog thickened. As usual, it's an excellent bit of work.

A straight video clip of Queen and Roncesvalles at around 2 a.m. on the 13th, this offers a pretty accurate depiction of the relative density of the fog at street level.

A glimpse at the 41 seconds during which the sun dips beneath the fog-line -- this scene is positively Stephen King-esque.
