Morning Brew: H1N1 Vaccination Sites, "Toronto 18" Videos, Boys-Only School, Glen Murray a Mayoral Candidate, Public Art on Lake Shore

What's happening in the GTA (and sometimes beyond):

Are boys-only classes in public elementary schools a good idea? Is an entire boys-only public school in Toronto a good idea? The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is mulling over these ideas, in hopes of boosting students' skills and lowering dropout rates. If my brief experiences with a male-only academic environment (at Mills Hall residence at the University of Guelph) is any indication, there will be pizza dripping from walls, broken windows, and the occasional fire to put out... along with the comradery.

City-commissioned, permanent, mutli-media art is coming to an unlikely location tonight - the underside of the Gardiner Expressway. "Watertable" by Lisa Steele and Kim Tomczak is LED lighting, video and sound that will create a rippling water effect. I can't help but liken this to trouble, a la water main breaks and runoff leaks we've seen often along the Lake Shore and Gardiner... although actually seeing it might change my opinion.

Former Winnipeg mayor turned Torontonian Glen Murray hosted a chili party last night, and all but made an official declaration of his intentions to run for mayor of Toronto in 2010. His past (and his present) begs the question: does he possess the level of commitment (and the foresight to plan for enough chili for everyone) to be mayor?

RCMP video evidence in the "Toronto 18" terror plotting case has been released by the judge, and footage depicts an explosion simulation (to portray the magnitude of the potential damage that could have been caused by the bomb the accused were allegedly planning to create), a cell phone detonator device, and arrests. Other than fear-mongering, I'm not sure how making this evidence public before the trial's end is of any use.

H1N1 flu vaccine sites in Toronto have been announced, and it's expected that administering of the shots will begin in the first week of November. blogTO reader Chris McConnell was kind enough to prepare this Google map, depicting the locations of H1N1 flu vaccination clinic sites in Toronto:
