What's happening in the GTA (and sometimes beyond):

There are some (perhaps minor and major) injustices being exposed and proposed at City Hall. Mayor Miller and the 44 city councillors can Tweet, but the rest of the people working for the city (some 46,000 people) have their access to the Twitter social networking site blocked [NP]. Seems unfair to me. In related, and perhaps more important news, Miller is proposing a wage-freeze at City Hall - for non-unionized workers [G&M].

It's not just Canadians that were outraged by FOX "news" Red Line host Greg Gutfeld's despicable segment that grossly insulted and undermined Canada's military efforts in Afghanistan. Americans are also speaking out in our defense [CityNews].

It's Raptors star Chris Bosh's birthday today, and in addition to getting good press for the party he threw [MyHogTown], he's also getting some bad press (i.e. being called a "deadbeat dad") due to accusations coming from his ex-girlfriend [Star] (the mother of his child).

Business owners on Lakeshore Boulevard in south Etobicoke are going through the same sort of ordeal as those up in Corso Italia on St.Clair did. The issue? They're concerned that the proposed removal of street parking to accommodate a dedicated streetcar lane [Sun] will kill their businesses.

Vaughan, the political scandal-plagued city north of Toronto, may see a familiar face running for mayor in the next election in 2010. It appears that the stage is being set for OPP Commissioner Julian Fantino to enter as a candidate [Star].
