What's Your Story? Pigeons

Have you ever wanted to approach someone because their face or style has left you wondering what they were all about but you were too afraid to ask?

What's Your Story? features the different characters that roam the streets of Toronto. Every Monday and Thursday, a new person shares their story, likes and dislikes about the city, a little secret and more.

Name: Jorge

Age: 23

What neighbourhood are you from? Sherbourne and Dundas

What do you 'do'? I'm a full time graphic design student and an aspiring milliner.

How long have you been in Toronto? 10 months

What's your story?

I come from nothing - having nothing - from Nicaragua. At home, I chase pigeons for
food. Here, I chase them for my hat creations. I came here to dream and fall in love with the city and find myself. I just love to dream and in this city - dreams do come true.

Favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

To be honest, I feel it's a young city and as a designer, I can be a part of molding it. I love the energy and excitement! It's all new but so exciting. You'll see people wearing my hats.

Least favorite thing(s) about Toronto:

You come to be heard but many people don't want to hear your story. It's very impersonal, at times.

You have 24 hours to spend with someone who's never been to Toronto before - what do you do?

The Fashion District! Definitely. Definitely.

One thing that your friends/family don't know about you:

I love watching people getting their nails painted. I have this obsession about it.
