Saturday Night's Alright For Pillowfighting

Pillowfighting in an urban setting is one safe way to get out all that pent-up aggression. Newmindspace is bringing us another pillowfight to Nathan Phillips Square Saturday evening at 7 p.m.

The brainchild of Kevin Bracken and Lori Kufner, Newmindspace has played host to a number of fun and mostly free events in Toronto, aimed at reclaiming public spaces for fun activities such as parades and bubble battles.

Follow these guidelines to ensure everyone has fun: Bring a soft pillow, swing lightly, don't swing at unarmed pillowfighters or photographers, remove your glasses beforehand, wait until the signal to begin and be sure to take your pillow (or its remnants) after all the fun when the sun goes down.

If you've got any energy left after swinging your pillow around the city square, there's an all-ages afterparty for Bracken and Kufner's new project, Newsoundspace. It's a fundraising effort in support of their next lightsaber battle, laser graffiti and capture the flag events.
