Your morning news roundup for July 11th, 2007:

The TTC is doing so well that it's losing money. The good news is that a fare increase is supposedly not in the cards. The bad news is that we'll probably get a fare increase anyways. And to think I was irked when the Montreal STM raised its student monthly pass to $30.

Next time you consider buying movie bootlegs in Chinatown, do the right thing and just download it off the internet instead.

Whoever killed millionaire Glen Davis may not have acted alone, as police are now on the hunt for an accomplice that's been spotted on video tapes.

The Polaris Music Prize shortlist has been announced; aside from Feist who spends most of her time in France, it doesn't look like Toronto fared too well this year. Just as well, the city doesn't need any more Broken Social Scene coverage anyways.

Caribana just kicked off and it netted a big funding boost as well. Still, not enough drag queens for my taste.

The US under-20 soccer team thought they were almost the victim of a plot to wipe them off the face of the Earth. They should've known that we've got some A+ kamikaze pilots.
