Morning Brew: March 20th, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Tuesday March 20th, 2007:

The federal budget rolled out yesterday, and cities were essentially told to pull up their socks by getting their own finances in order. Toronto Mayor David Miller isn't happy. Not at all.

For the second time this month, an armoured car was robbed at gunpoint in the west end. Police are investigating the possible connection between the two incidents.

If you see someone with a saw under your car, chances are high that your catalytic converter is being stolen. The metals in this exhaust component are worth lots on the scrap blackmarket.

Pet owners should read this. The discovery of several pets falling ill has resulted in a massive recall of over 90 brands of pet foods. Check the affected products list, and if things match up, don't feed it to your beloved pet!

Oshawa is still milking its publicity stunt / love affair with American TV icon Stephen Colbert, and will be hosting a party to celebrate their loser status. Colbert has no plans to be there.
