Morning Brew: February 1st, 2007

Your morning news roundup for Thursday February 1st, 2007:

Fire at a cold storage facility is filling the air with dangerous fumes, due to the ammonia used in the refrigeration units. The smell is decidedly less pleasant than roasted pork

Anyone that has yet to switch their old tokens (and needs to use one this morning) might be in luck; turns out that not all subway turnstiles have been "upgraded" and will still accept the old wannabe-dimes. Still, you'll be taking a chance...

The U.N. tells us that global warming is a reality. Everyone living in Toronto during the positively mild December can feel free to say "No $#!T" right about now.

Many a home in Ontario and even in a few in the US of A noticed a brief blip in power yesterday, preceding many alarms not going off and some of us getting into work late. Turns out they don't know what caused the blip and subsequent fire at the Richview Transformer Station in Etobicoke yesterday. My money's on a Cylon computer virus.
