The Toronto Vintage Paper Show

My first BlogTO post and it's the least cyber-like thing I could possibly be talking about. Yesterday I spend hours (HOURS) down at the Vintage Paper Show. This one-day-only event sprawled the entire Barbara Frum atrium of the Canadian Broadcasting Centre (250 Front St) and even spilled out into the lobby.

The crowd was amazingly diverse... from seniors looking to snatch up a piece of their history to young hipsters trying to get in touch with an age they'll never really know. On the other side of the tables were dozens of antique-peddlin' vendors, many more interested in chatting than selling much. Up for grabs -- hundreds of old magazines, newspapers, books, postcards, photos and other vintage print-related goodies

The admission fee of 8 bucks was a bit steep for a relatively small event but I still had enough left over to pick up a handful of old postcards, manuals and original photographs. If they dropped the admission, I'd have been likely to spend that $8 (and then some) on more photos.

Regardless, it'll be back in T.O. on October 23rd, 2005 (same location), so maybe I'll find a way to sneak myself in by then. ;)
