Book Scene: Toronto Life Fiction Issue Bites It

First, our headlines. Er. Headline.

Bookninja reports that this year marks the end of the Toronto Life summer reading issue.

Editor John Macfarlane figures since most of the submissions aren't set in Toronto, it doesn't make sense for TL to publish them. I'm sure you can see the holes in that logic, so I won't bother pointing them out. (Why is the chick on the cover nearly naked? Well, you know. Summer reading is hot. Doesn't everyone read Toronto Life in their panties?)

Fancy yourself a writer? Toronto Women's Bookstore is running a workshop called The Truth Will Set You Free: Autobiographical Writing for Women of Colour, Aboriginal Women and Trans People instructed by local author Dianah Smith.

The workshops run Tuesdays in August (1,8,15,22) from 6:30pm - 9pm. Non-refundable fee: $52. Limited sliding scale spots available. Enrolment is limited to 15 participants.
