5 Questions: Mana "Beyond Belief" Director

I had a chance to speak with Peter Friedman, director of the documentary Mana: Beyond Belief, before the benefit screening for the Toronto Public Space Committee & Spacing Magazine. The documentary is without narration and thus appeals to any audience around the world. It also has worldwide appeal as it was shot in 5 continents. The documentary delves into the fact that in every society there are objects that have special power over people, and many people go so far as to climb mountains, make pilgrimages, engage in rituals, and go to countless vast and unique lengths to feel a source of that power. Mana: Beyond Belief plays July 26th to the 30th at the Royal Cinema and opens August 5th at the Varsity.
