Free events in Toronto this week will keep your spirits lifted high until next weekend rolls around. Sounds of the Season on December 2 is one of your best bets. From 5:30 a.m. on, you can walk into the CBC building and catch live broadcasts of radio shows and concerts from Tanika Charles, Ria Mae, the Jerome Tucker Band, The Good Lovelies as well as giveaways and snacks all day until 7 p.m.

      The artistic director of Toronto’s Nova Dance puts on a private (and totally free) dance show in the lower levels of the Sony Centre. She’s an expert in classical bharatanatyam and created a piece in collaboration with tabla virtuoso Ed Hanley. The show starts at 6 p.m.

      This is not a joke, but it’s very much a first come, first served situation, so don’t be late. Starting at 10 p.m. at Posh on Cumberland Street, you can walk in and eat free tacos alongside cheap shooters. Make sure to register for your free pass before you head over.

      On Friday, starting at 5:30 a.m,. head to the CBC building for some coffee and snacks (while they last) and listen to your fave radio shows recorded live. Meet a bunch of CBC personalities and watch live performances all day from local acts like Ria Mae, the Jerome Tucker Band and The Good Lovelies.

      A gallery filled with a stunning amount of small scale, multi-disciplinary artworks created by artists on 2.5 x 2.5 inch high wood blocks. There are submissions from Canada and around the globe and include tiny paintings to more intricate pieces of work like sculpture and bead work. This could be the month’s most adorable art show.

      Santa hits the Junction streets for a full day of holiday fun. Mrs. Claus will also in the house with some storytelling sessions. There will be a street-wide market, indoor and outdoor craft sales, live entertainment, arts market and specials in many of the local shops, including hot chocolate everywhere you turn.
