5 just announced Prince tribute nights in Toronto

Fans in Toronto, and all over the world, are mourning the loss of musical legend Prince, who passed away at age 57 on Thursday. And now, in the upcoming days, Toronto venues and bars will be throwing him tribute parties.

Here's how Toronto is paying tribute to Prince.

A Special Tribute to Prince (April 23)
The evening at the Tranzac Club in the Annex will kick off with covers performed by Toronto indie artists and end with a Prince-filled dance party. Purple drinks will be served, and the bar is asking everyone to wear violet hues.

Prince-fluence: An Odyssey Tracing His Influence In Modern Sounds (April 23)
The Red Light on Dundas West will be playing the icon's top hits plus songs from artists who've been influenced by his work, like D'Angelo, R. Kelly, Future, Outkast and Miguel.

Purple Rain (April 23-24)
If you're in the market for something less extravagant than a dance party, the Bloor Cinema has got you covered. It sold out of tickets to its Saturday screening of Purple Rain, but announced that it has opened a second slot on Sunday to pay its respects to Prince.

Princes Tribute: Retro Guilty Pleasures (April 29)
The Velvet Underground will be playing songs from all of Prince's albums and projecting his videos around the club.

When Doves Cry: A Prince Tribute Party (May 1)
The Drake Hotel is honouring the High Priest of Pop with a bash celebrating his lifelong career. Expect to hear "When Doves Cry," "Let's Go Crazy," "Kiss," "Batdance" and "Cream" accompanied by curated visuals. Costumes are encouraged, so dust off your purple suit.
