fried fish ball recall

Fried snack recalled in Ontario because it could cause life-threatening reaction

A fried product is being recalled in Ontario because it has undeclared allergens that could potentially cause a life-threatening reaction.

Fried fish balls from Yijie Holdings Inc. contain egg, but it's not declared on the label.

The fried fish balls have been sold in Ontario as well as British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and possibly other provinces, as well as online.

"Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction," reads Canada's official government recall website.

The official website advises the general public as well as hotels and restaurants of this recall.

The recalled product should be thrown away or returned to where it was purchased.

Of course, you shouldn't sell, serve, use or distribute the recalled product at all. There have been no reports of reactions associated with the consumption of the product.

"The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace," reads the government website.
