Found: Chip Nuts in Toronto

I found Picard's Chip Nuts in a roadside store in St. Thomas, a small town outside of London, ON.

After gobbling up half of my stash, I was on a hunt to find them in the city. The two-hour trek west would just be too much for a snack - although I am notorious for going out of my way for such goods.

First stop: The bulk barn or any other bulk sections of grocery stores, including Noah's and Whole Foods. Nothing.

Second stop: Specialty grocery stores. I did find the Koh-Kee Nuts, which are offered in various Asian grocery stores across the city...but no Chip Nuts. They are different.

I was beginning to lose hope until I remembered a post on Chowhound about my new favourite snack time treat. Word had it that these crunchy pleasures could be found in the North Market of the St. Lawrence Market.

At lunch, I scooted over to see if it was true - and there it was, containers of tiny morsels of joy.

P.S. If you find them, make sure to stock up.
