The future is here. Toronto, along with with numerous towns and cities across the province, will soon be plugged into an electric car charging network. That's right, the Ministry of Transportation announced today that it's putting in about 500 electric vehicle chargers at 250 locations, including in places such as Tim Hortons, IKEA and McDonald's parking lots.

"Building a more robust network of public chargers across Ontario allows electric vehicle owners to plan longer trips knowing that charging stations are as readily available as gas stations," reads a press release from the Ministry of Transportation.

The entire public network should be ready by March 31, 2017, meaning you'll be able to take a greener, electric-powered road trip next summer. And this project all part of the province's plan to curb green house emissions.
