Winter Solstice sets Kensington Market skies on fire

It may not feel like winter in Toronto today, but the season quietly arrived this week. To mark the shortest day of the year on Monday, December 21, Red Pepper Spectacle Arts held its annual Winter Solstice Parade in Kensington Market and transformed the neighbourhood with costumes, fire and handmade lanterns.

The celebration kicked off at the corner of Oxford and Augusta. Take a look at the photos below to see how parade-goers brought light into the darkest day of 2015.
