Rob Ford Policy Advisor resign

Rob Ford policy advisor resigns in wake of scandal

In what might be the first of another round of resignations in the Mayor's office, policy advisor Brooks Barnett has left his post with Rob Ford. Barnett was one of a few staff members who stayed with Ford after allegations regarding the crack video first surfaced, and the subsequent firing of then Chief of Staff Mark Towhey led to a flurry of resignations in the mayor's office. Will Barnett's resignation start the dominoes falling again?

One would think that sticking with Ford through the severe pressure to resign from fellow councillors is a risky career move, but it's worth bearing in mind that people like current chief of staff Earl Provost were brought in after the initial scandal, so might be better prepared for the firestorm that's currently brewing at city hall. Barnett was reportedly with Ford during his notorious St. Patrick's Day bender in 2012 and had stuck around while others jumped ship, but it seems like enough was enough.
