What's happening in the GTA (and sometimes beyond):

Ready for the next weather roller coaster ride? This morning we've got a wind warning in effect, and it'll go from 10oC to -10oC by 6pm. Weeeeeeee!

After investigating a string of 32 armed robberies in a matter of months, police believe that they've finally nabbed their men. Three teens have been arrested and a fourth is being sought in what police are calling one of the most concentrated robbery sprees they've seen. Combined, they face almost 300 charges.

Note to Toronto City Hall: please make this insanity stop. More resources have gone into the paper coffee cup recycling debate than are possibly justified, it's taking longer than anticipated to figure out, and still no concrete decisions or plans have been settled on.

The OLG is once again in the media spotlight, but this time not over insider winnings. The lottery corp is now taking heat for giving away a bunch on foreign-made Mercedes during a time of severe crisis for local auto makers. Should they be running a lottery for cars at all? I guess no one would enter the lottery if they were giving away, say, trees or solar panels, right?

And in labour news, I'm quitting my gig as an underpaid blogger and becoming a unionized city employee. They make far more money, have much better benefits, and retain better job security. And there's likely nothing anyone can do to change that.
