City Hall Reno Budget Slashed in Half

The recently announced renovations to City Hall have been met with a flury of protests. It was revealed that the city planned to spend an estimated $6.2 million on expanding the Mayor's office, creating a new media room, and taking care of approved reno items that have been on the books since 1988.

But it now seems the city is backing down on what's been labeled a massive misuse of precious funds. Officials announced today that it is scaling back the job by 50%, and only upgrading the Mayor's office and constructing a Queen's Park-style media room.
