Life in a Lens - Joanna Potratz

Life in a Lens and on the Walls at Slack's

I first met Joanna Potratz one chilly Hug Day afternoon in Nathan Phillips Square, when she gave my girlfriend a giant bear hug.

Since that afternoon, her mini moo card has been kicking around my camera bag begging for attention. Today, after receiving a reader tip on a new photo exhibit up at Slack's, I recognized the artist name, searched out the moo card, and can finally return the love.

Joanna's first show is on now at Slack's (562 Church St) and runs 'til May 13th. It features a variety of her favourite works, some of which you can see online in her Flickr stream or Deviant Art gallery.

blogTO reader, Pete, who send in the tip on this show, describes the exhibit as a "solid first show" and was impressed by her work.

I'll be down there later today to see it for myself and perhaps try out the recently re-vamped Slack's menu while I'm at it.
