Flaming Lips, The Roots to play free concerts in Toronto
This summer the Pan Am Games are taking over Toronto with PANAMANIA. While the event is focused on sports, there's a whole lot else going on too. During the Games, Toronto will play host to over 1,300 artists and 250 exhibitions for a 35 day arts and culture celebration.
Needless to say, there will be no shortage of things to do in the city come July.
Mark your calendars as a number of free concerts have been scheduled. The Flaming Lips, Chromeo, Janelle Monae, Polaris Prize winner Tanya Tagaq, and Death from Above 1979 are all slated to perform at Nathan Phillips Square, while Lights and Dragonette will be performing on the Exhibition Place grounds.
Aside from these big ticket performers, the fest also showcases theatre, dance, visual arts, comedy, and fashion. Some events are free while others are ticketed, so plan accordingly. Tickets and additional information can be pursued on the PANAMANIA website.
