Popular vegetarian restaurant slapped with 11 infractions from Toronto health inspectors

Fresh restaurant may be one of the most popular in Toronto, but that didn't stop it from getting nailed with 11 infractions by health inspectors.

Fresh on Crawford received a conditional pass from DineSafe inspectors on May 6.

The restaurant is known for onion rings and fake buffalo chicken wraps, but this comfort food isn't so comforting based on the infractions laid out.

Fresh received one crucial infraction for premises maintained in a manner to permit contamination of single-use containers.

They received eight significant infractions for "food equipment not of readily cleanable form," failure to ensure equipment surface cleaned, food equipment not in good repair, failing to sanitize multi-service articles, not removing waste, not keeping sanitary facilities sanitary, failing to protect against pests and failing to keep pest control records.

They also had two minor infractions for not keeping the food-handling room free from equipment not regularly used and for not having a "tight floor surface" where food is handled.

Fresh was issued an action of a notice to comply for all infractions but remain open while they work to resolve the issues.
