Toronto Nice France vigil

Vigil for victims of Nice attack in Toronto tonight

The Toronto sign will be lit in red, white and blue again. And at 6 p.m. this evening, people will make their way to Nathan Phillips Square to honour and remember the victims of yesterday's horrific attack in Nice, France.

During Bastille Day festivities, a man drove a truck through a crowd of civilians, killing 84 and injuring 202.

"My heart goes out to the people of France and to the French community here. I just hope again that we can find a way to live in this world without this kind of thing going on," said Mayor John Tory to CP24 earlier today.

Just last week, more than 2,000 people gathered at Queen's Park to honour the victims from the July 3 bombing in Baghdad.
