Pet Store Abandoned, with Pets

133 animals, including cats, dogs, rabbits, birds, reptiles, and more have been rescued from the "Everything Under the Sun" pet store in the Dufferin/Bloor area after being left alone for several days. When Toronto Police and the Toronto Humane Society got into the store, they found the situation deporable, and charges are pending. Let's hope that if this is a case of blatant negligence, the law sticks it to the owner real good.

The Humane Society, in an effort to save as many animals as possible and cope with the sudden influx of animals, is running a special adoption program this weekend.

The "Open Your Heart Adopt-a-thon" runs from today until Sunday, August 20. Adoption fees have been waived, and adoption includes:

- vaccinations to date
- six weeks of PetCare insurance
- a microchip identification implant
- discount coupon for Royal Canin Inc. puppy/dog food or cat/kitten food
- pet care information booklet
- unconditional love

Adoption Hours:
Friday, August 18 - 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, August 19 - 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday, August 20 - 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
