Science Centre unveils new interactive exhibit today

Morning Brew: July 27, 2006

Your morning news roundup for Thursday, July 27, 2006:

All my friends that whine when I want to go to the Ontario Science Centre, saying there's nothing to do there, can now stop complaining: the new Weston Family Innovation Centre opens today.

I was the fat kid in school, and even I took phys-ed until eleventh grade. Apparently, less than 50% of tenth graders take it now.

Did you know streetcar drivers weren't allowed to talk on their cellphones? Well, apparently not all drivers are aware of the rule.

Apparently, conventions love Toronto, despite the high taxes and high gas prices. Maybe our hotels are just nicer?

If a karaoke bar can be fined for not having copyright agreements with the artists, you might want to watch out when you host a party and your friends all drunkenly sing along to "Summer of '69."

Yet another Toronto politician, Jim Karygiannis, decides to enter the Liberal leadership race. It's only a matter of time before the Liberals change their name to the "Ontario Party."

For those of us old enough to remember when it was called the O'Keefe Centre, knowing that the naming rights for the Hummingbird Centre is up next year may be a small victory. Unless they go and name it the Rogers Centre Part Two or something.
