Buy the pound while it lasts

Even though crappy-weather-weekend 2005 is upon us, it's springtime and with spring comes spring cleaning... and spring shopping. :D My routine usually consists of bagging up the clothes that are just too big/too small/too out-of-style and making room for new items. The "new" is usually vintage anyways, but it's a healthy cycle.

Come May 2nd though, that routine will no longer include a trip down to Jarvis & Adelaide to dig through the piles at Buy The Pound.

That's the day that it closes down for good and moves out to Scarborough to make way for the newest luxury condo highrise.

And so continues the new city tradition of pushing the poor further and further out east to make room for sparkly new apts, condos, trump towers and shopping centres.

*sigh*

For now you can still get down there for some great deals... and even take advantage of closing down sales that have the usual $2 a pound going for 50% off (ie. ONE DOLLAR). Discounts apply to bags, shoes, LPs, books, etc too, so make sure to drop in before it g.o.n.e.

Don't forget to bring some Purell for afterwards.
