Live Aid, er, 8 is comin' - start packing water

It's going to be World Youth Day all over again... but without the army of backpacks.

Bob Geldof has confirmed that Toronto is going to host one of the massive Live 8 concerts. Originally Ottawa was going to play host, but buckling under crowd control fear, its back to T.O. N
ow where's ol' Mel to call in the army?

Nothing official about location or lineup has been announced yet. The "big" press conference has been scheded for next Tuesday at 10am though. (No location for the press conference either...)

Naturally, it would seem like Downsview Park should be the place to hold such a show. At the same time, Canada Day celebrations are set for the previous day, so whether or not back-to-back shows can even be pulled off is causing problems.

When it comes to acts, plenty of rumours have been flying around about supposed performers that might be hitting the stage.

In the Canadian rumour zone we're talking Barenaked Ladies, Jann Arden and Our Lady Peace (they're still together?). On an international scope, many are speculating that the Stones might just come back for round two.

As for actually confirmed: according to CityTV's latest report, "reps for Billy Talent have already confirmed the group has been invited and will be there - wherever 'there' is."

I suppose it's safe to say, MORE TO COME...
