The Open Roof Festival returns for third year
The Open Roof Festival is back for year three, and earlier today organizers revealed the 2012 film and music line-ups. As was the format last year, performances from local bands will precede Thursday evening screenings in the parking lot adjacent to Amsterdam Brewery. In case you think that the music plays second fiddle to the films at this festival, the inclusion of acts like Army Girls, Parlovr, and Bruce Peninsula underscore the degree to which the programming has evolved since Open Roof's first year.
The festival starts on Thursday June 21st and runs for 10 weeks, wrapping up on August 23rd. Each night gets underway at 7:30 p.m. with screenings starting around sundown. On the film end, there's a little bit of everything to choose from (docs, comedies, drama), so buy your tickets early if you're picky about what you want to watch (the line-up is strong enough that, for some, it won't really matter) and pray that it doesn't pour rain that night.
