Nike unwraps Air Force 1 pop-up shop in Toronto
On Saturday, Livestock's Spadina location opened their doors to reveal a two week Nike pop-up shop worth a gander. Just in time for All-Star weekend, the multi-faceted experience is literally Air Force 1 heaven.
There are light boxes with cloud prints throughout the space and all of the displays - including a 3D Toronto cityscape - are radiant white.
Charming visuals aside, the pop-up celebrates the iconic sneaker's past and present; it highlights the shoe's technical advancements from 1982 onwards while also featuring the newest, lightest Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknit.
Available in many different colourways for both men and women at $235, the sneaker weighs 50% less than the very first model while remaining true to its original design aesthetic.
As for the archive of AF1s sure to make a sneakerhead's brain explode, samples straight from the vaults at Nike HQ are chronologically displayed alongside anecdotes on material, silhouette and tech updates.
Among the dozens of shoes are the steel toe'd S.W.A.T. Hi's, Rasheed Wallace Sheedmans, Ricardo Tisci collabs and my personal favourite: the ACRONYM Lunar Force 1's with the zippered side panel.
The pop-up shop will run until February 21 and is open from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily.
