Toronto Gift Guide: The Plushtache

It's day #1 of the Toronto Holiday Gift Guide. Welcome to my 23 day quest to find some of the best gifts in Toronto this holiday season. Of course, this means I'll have no time for my own holiday shopping, but at least I'll have plenty of ideas. Check out blogTO each day until December 23rd for a new item daily!

Today's pick: Plushtache hand-crocheted moustache pins. After a long month of Movember, I'm just a little tired of upper-lip fuzz (even though I'm usually a fan of facial hair). Because, well, most moustaches just look downright creepy. I figured that guys would be dying for a shave, too, now that we've safely made it into December. Not so.

My furry friends have grown attached to their new-found pieces of manhood. At a live show I attended last night, all five members of the performing band had yet to let go of their respective 'staches. We have a problem. Luckily, local artist Shannon Gerard has come to the rescue. Her too-cute moustache pins might just be the cure for Movember withdrawal symptoms. And they're far less sleazy than the real thing.

Additional specs: wool, 5"x1"

Perfect for: Guys who need to be gently advised that they look like perverts, and girls with moustache-envy

What it'll cost you: $8

Where to get it: Drake Hotel General Store, 82A Bathurst Street (plus 2 other locations)
