Active Surplus store closing on Queen West

Professor Banana will soon vacate his home on Queen Street West as Active Surplus closes its downtown outpost, reports 12:36 today.

After more than 30 years on Queen, the unique, miscellaneous electronic shop is leaving the area. But don't despair just yet because you'll still be able to find an assortment of random goods at the Active Surplus on Steeles, between Islington and Weston Road. And, according to an FAQ on the store's website, it may find itself another new location.

Starting today, everything at Active Surplus's Queen Street outpost is 50 percent off. It wants to get rid of its entire inventory, including its display shelves and fixtures. Professor Banana, however, isn't for sale.
