Festival India Toronto 2011

Photos of the 39th annual Festival of India

The 39th Festival of India took place this weekend with its annual parade down Yonge Street from Bloor to Queen's Quay. Despite the scorching temperatures, the parade was an extremely upbeat affair with lots of dancing in the streets and plenty of colourful attire. Upon its conclusion, the crowd slowly made its way across the harbour, where the festivities picked back up on the Island. Highlights included an expansive yoga meltdown, vegetarian cooking demonstrations, free vegan food, and opportunities for face painting and henna tattoos.
