Victoria Day fireworks in Toronto 2014

Victoria Day Fireworks in Toronto don't quite feature the pomp of Canada Day, but if you want to get out there and watch things burn in the sky, you've got options. The main celebration, as in years past, takes place at Ashbridges Bay on Monday, May 19 at 10 p.m. Not to get too paternal, but you really do need to get there early if you hope to secure a good spot take in the show. Failing that, you could always rent a yacht and snicker at the poor people stuck on the beach.

Those who want more than the 2,000 fireworks deployed at the above festivities can pay a premium to check out the Canada's Wonderland show, which features 6,000 little explosions. The show goes off at around 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 18. But you will, of course, have to pay full park admission ($47.99) unless you want to hang around at the side of the road in Vaughan.

Also worth noting is the annual Victoria Day fireworks at Dundas Driving Park near Hamilton. This one goes off in Sunday, May 18. So if you're just obsessed with fireworks, you can hit this one and the Ashbridges Bay show to get your fill. Weather permitting, of course. The other option is to just buy some of your own entertainment explosives and have a neighbourhood show. We don't have a comprehensive list of such celebrations, but you should be able to follow your ears at dusk on Sunday and Monday.
