Black Oak Brewing Co. opens doors for Winter Warmer

While Etobicoke might not be your first choice for a place to party on a Saturday night — unless you like to party with Rob and DougBlack Oak Brewing Company and their upcoming Winter Warmer event, taking place Saturday January 28th, might just change your mind.

Part of a series of monthly parties they've been hosting at the brewery since last fall, this Saturday's Winter Warmer continues the company's celebration of local craft beer and food. The event features kegs of Black Oak Nut Brown, Black Oak Pale Ale, the long-awaited Black Oak Double Chocolate Cherry Stout, and special one-off cask ales, in addition to beer from Kensington Brewing Company and Cheshire Valley Brewing Company, both of whom contract space and brew their beer using Black Oak's facilities.

While it's currently mostly populated by serious beer fans like local brewers, media, and the Toronto Beer Lovers Meetup Group, the event is indeed public and Black Oak's parties have enjoyed a growing popularity.

As Black Oak's Tracy Phillippi notes, "we want our monthly brewery parties to become bigger and bigger. Getting people to come all the way out to Etobicoke is difficult, but... they're in for a good time and good beer when they come to Black Oak."

The event is just $20 at the door and considering the fact that that gets you all you can drink (yes, you read that correctly) and all you can eat (chicken, beef, and vegan curry from Burger Bar) it certainly does seem well worth the trip.

The party starts at 5 p.m., and Black Oak's facilities are accessible by TTC.

And if you can't make it this time around, don't fret: next month Black Oak will be hosting a Valentine's Day Party on February 18th from 5-9 p.m. featuring fair-trade chocolate from local chocolate business, ChocoSol — and they'll be pouring beer chocolate floats.

Can you imagine a more romantic evening?

The Black Oak Brewing Company is located at 75 Horner Avenue, Unit #1 in Etobicoke. 416. 252.2739
