Nutrition Month Events

March is Nutrition Month in Canada, many work places are holding individual learning events for their employees, but if you don't happen to work in one of those places there are still other free events the public is invited to join.

The Toronto Vegetarian Association is offering free information sessions Vegetarian 101: Moving towards a heart healthy diet.

Vegetarian 101 is 3 sessions held in Room 200 in Northern District Library from 3pm-4pm on Saturdays in March.
- Saturday March 3 - Introduction to vegetarian nutrition
- Saturday March 17 - Protein, carbohydrates and fats
- Saturday March 31 - Adopting healthy lifestyle habits

On March 13th, 14th and 15th an information booth will be up at Sick Kids. The booth is titled Cook it Up...Healthy! and will display nutrition information and resources, healthy eating pamphlets, hand-outs and printed recipe ideas. Plus, for those of us who are suckers for samples, they will be distributing samples of healthy snacks. Between 10:00am and 2:00pm Dietetic interns and registered dieticians will be present to answer questions on nutrition.
