JacLife web series Slice

Get ready for, like, the best reality TV series ever

JacLife, Toronto's very own web-based reality show is about to hit the air. And if there's one thing the world needs, it's more reality TV shows. Sure we've got the Hills, the Real Housewives, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and the City but I have the terrible suspicion that somewhere there are still some ridiculously vacuous and improbably beautiful people whose every move isn't being captured on film. Thankfully someone's finally trained a lens on Jaclyn Genovese, a 24-year old socialite-in-training.

Today Slice.ca premieres Jaclife, a six-webisode mini-series about Jaclyn and her pretty friends who spend their days running Queen West fashion boutique Jacflash and their nights spreading their fabulousness all over the city's hotspots. Jaclyn may be reality TV's latest star, but she wants you to know that she's like, a real person and everything. "This lifestyle doesn't come for free," she assures us in the show's must-watch pilot. True, but being the daughter of multi-millionaire executive Geoffrey Genovese probably doesn't hurt.

You might think Jaclyn spends her time sipping champagne and eating caviar. But uh-uh, she's a vegetarian. And the poor thing's allergic to champagne to boot. Luckily she's got a cadre of foxy BFFs to help her through the tough beluga-less nights, and judging by the teaser, every episode will feature at least thirty seconds of the them all standing around wiping misty tears from their eyes and whispering in each other's ear "yes, you do look good in that."

Some more riveting scenes already in the can: Jaclyn in her fabulous bathroom brushing her teeth! Jaclyn in her fabulous store vacuuming the carpet! Jaclyn in her fabulous loft eating cereal! Basically all the things you and I do everyday, but more interesting cause she's rich.

JacLife launches later today, and might just make you feel good and bad about your life in equal measure.
